Reimagine Wellness

Many treatments can feel intimidating or invasive. That is why it is so important to understand the treatment process prior to beginning neurofeedback training. Our aim is to provide long-term relief to persistent troublesome symptoms, while providing education and understanding for each of our clients' specific needs.

What are the steps to Neurofeedback training?

We offer a free consultation to learn about your current struggles and symptoms and discuss if you may be a good candidate for neurofeedback services. If so, we will explore how neurofeedback may assist to reduce your specific symptoms.

The initial neurofeedback appointment consists of a quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG) to collect data on what your brainwaves are doing and how they relate to your symptoms. As noninvasive and painless as an ultrasound, this snapshot of your brain activity provides the necessary information for the neurofeedback specialist to create a protocol to increase or decrease the activity of your brain waves at certain sites to reduce symptoms.

Twice a week, you will attend a one-hour training session in which you will choose a movie (for eyes open protocols) or music (for eyes closed protocols). A cap or single electrodes are applied to the scalp via gel or paste to aid in connectivity. The electrodes capture your brainwave activity and the data is then sent to the computer. This information is fed back to the client via audio, visual, and/or tactile feedback which prompts the brain to adjust.

Gradually, the brain learns to move and keep the brainwaves in more optimal positions, often easing symptoms permanently.
